Growing barley leaves requires significant time and care, along with the expertise and dedication of skilled farmers. From autumn to spring, our craftsmen head out to the fields early in the morning to monitor growth and tend to the crops with meticulous attention.
Unmatched Craftmanship
We create our Aojiru using a "raw squeezing" technique. This method preserves the enzymes by not applying heat, allowing the fresh nutrients of barley leaves to remain intact. The vitamins and minerals in barley leaves are sensitive to heat, so by processing them into powder without heating, we ensure the enzymes stay alive.
The nutrients in barley leaves are encased in tough fibers, making them difficult to absorb as they are. By extracting the raw juice and removing the fibers, the nutrients become more effectively absorbable.
ORIZURU's Production Process
Harvesting:
Fresh, pesticide-free domestic barley leaves are transported directly to the factory.
Washing:
The leaves are thoroughly cleaned with pure underground water.
Crushing & Juicing:
The leaves are crushed to make nutrient extraction easier, then juiced using a screw press.
Concentration & Cooling:
The juice is concentrated and cooled to preserve the nutrients.
Low-Temperature Spray Drying:
The raw juice is powdered through low-temperature spray drying, preserving enzymes and beneficial components.
Formulation, Filling, and Packaging:
The product is made under strict quality control, ensuring safety and quality throughout the process.

Dr. Yoshihide Hagiwara, was the first in the world to recognize the potential of barley leaves as a green juice ingredient. For over five decades, research on barley leaves has continued, with 43 papers published and 102 presentations made at the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan and other conferences as of July 2023. We continually pursue the limitless possibilities of natural ingredients to create even better products.
